I've been thinking lately, and I think I'm going to officially take my leave of Neopets.
The odd thing is, it's not because of Neopets exactly. I actually kind of wish I had the time to play it. But honestly, I just don't. With all the things I really want to do, between improve my art, work on my graphic novel, working, getting ready for college, hanging out with friends, playing videogames... there's just other things I'd rather be doing, and spending even half an hour on Neo just sounds like a waste of time nowadays.
It kind of makes me sad, but I rarely go on Neo anymore as it is, so I guess it's just time to accept the reality.
I think I'm just going to let my accounts sit, logging into them now and again. I'm going to keep my pets and all that, but I won't be playing.
Oh, and don't worry - I'll still be here! My Peos and Unis will just be separate from Neopets. =) I guess they'll just become hippocampi and pegasus and unicorns.
Growing up is tough. =(

Eh, the last time I went on neopets was today, for all of ten minutes. I did as you said - logged into every account so I could still keep my pets Sometimes I just lab, then go back to facebook.. If 'quitting' neopets is the toughest thing you do whilst growing up, then I commend you.

That's kind of what happened with me...
honestly, Neo has gone down the tubes, ever since it got sold out.
I used to be pissed about it but I think it was more a blessing in disguise, it provided the out I needed to be able to grow up and get detached from it. Of course, my characters are still a part of me, I don't think that'll ever change.

You're certainly not the first to feel that way, and you know you'll have a "home" here no matter what. I don't blame you for feeling less drawn to Neopets. Their target audience is getting younger and younger, and we're just getting older. The gap is only getting wider.
Keep your pets, log into your accounts, etc. Some day you may find you have more time (or have learned how to manage it more efficiently) and decide you want to try again.

Lain - haha, I gree, I -wish- that would be the only thing growing up means for me. xD Life would be far easier~.
Mini - nothing Neo ever did actually got me annoyed enough to leave. It just feels like it's time now.
Ami - very true. It's so odd to feel so detached, when at one time I was an all-knowing vet there.

The detached feeling is hard. I've been feeling it for a few years now. However, with the new changes happening here and other factors, I'm finding myself missing my characters and wanting to get a bit more evolved again.
So it comes and goes in waves. You may find one day that you really want to be involved in Neo again, and you may not. Either way, you've got us!

I hope so. When did the days just get so short? =/
I'll always be here! ^^ At least, I hope so.

Haha, the days got shorter after high school let out, I'm telling you. I've been feeling pretty distant from Neo too, as of late. I'll still go on sometimes and play games but... meh. I keep profiles updated, might work on petpages. I am thinking I won't be re-upping my charter again, though, since that $70 a year might do well elsewhere... like coggins testing for my horse, so I can start showing on Saturdays. Who knows?

Aw MAN. I really don't like it when my time just disappears. xD
Yeah... I always thought Premium on Neo was really expensive.
