General
1. As with any online community, you are expected to be polite to other members. Do not insult or harass others.
2. If you have an argument to settle, do it off the forums so as not to disrupt the community and get others involved. If problems continue, you may call upon the aid of an administrator or moderator and they will take appropriate action.
3. Theft is taken very seriously here. Do not steal anything belonging to another member, whether it be art, designs, or writing. If a problem concerning possible theft arises, see rule two.
4. Do not try to pressure another member into giving out his or her personal information.
5. No spamming is allowed on the boards. Short, pointless messages, particularly repeated ones, are considered spam and will result in a warning. Only post if you have something positive to contribute to the thread.
6. Please do not double post. If you think of something else you want to say, simply edit your first post. For exceptions, see rule 8.
7. 'Bumping' boards is not allowed. If you really want a board pushed back to the top, such as a contest or survey, ask an admin and they will bump it for you. For exceptions, see rule 8.
8. Because we encourage members to update old character bios instead of creating new ones, we allow thread-bumping and double posting on bios. Please do so in moderation, and use the opportunity to detail what has changed about the bio.
9. No ranting is allowed. Long, heated messages criticizing other members, staff, or the Stalking Grounds itself are not allowed. Any such sentiments should be kept off the boards. If you have legitimate concerns, please raise them directly with a staff member.
10. You are required to use proper grammar when posting anywhere on the forum. This includes spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, etc. Continued disregard this rule it will result in a warning. If English is not your native language, you are of course exempt from this, but do make as best an effort as you can. (Spellcheck is a beautiful thing!)
11. Please keep all content, both IC and OOC, at or below a PG-13 level.
12. Three warnings will result in removal of your account from the forum. Warnings expire after sixty days from date issued.
Roleplaying Etiquette
1. Violence, romance, swearing, etc. are all allowed within role play, as long as it is in character, tastefully executed, and kept below a PG-13 level outside of the Mature Roleplay.
2. You are only allowed to enter the Mature Roleplay board if you are 18 years of age or older. If you are and wish to post there, ask an admin for the password.
3. Literacy is a requirement here. Proper grammar is just as important in role play as it is on the rest of the boards. Put thought into each response to an RP, and try to have each reply be at least a paragraph in length.
4. If someone makes a private thread, do not intrude on it. You are allowed to read private threads unless the creator(s) ask you specifically not to, but do not post in private threads under any circumstances unless you are invited to by the creator(s).
5. Do not role play other people's characters for them, including actions, thoughts, and appearance, unless they specifically give you permission to do so.
