You may or may not have noticed that a new category called the Application Hall has sprung up overnight. This is because we staff decided to revamp the application process completely.
Basically, the idea is to get a better sense of a potential member before they are accepted. Hopefully we will be able to see their personality, writing skills, and character development up front and decide whether they should join from there.
Also, all you members will have the chance to voice your own opinion about incoming applicants, so all of you will have a bigger say in who becomes a part of this community.
The most important thing to remember is to be fair when judging applicants. Offer constructive criticism, and please do not let bias play a part in your decision. If you have a legitimate concern about an applicant, bring it up privately with a staff member.
If you would like to know more, go check out the rules and sample application in the Application Hall.
Post all your thoughts here! Applications to the club are closed for now, so it will be a while before they take effect. There is still plenty of time to tweak things.

I think it is a very good idea. =3 I've gone through the application process in several roleplaying forums, and I find it a great way to weed out the members who don't really want to join. And, like you said, we can get a better sense of the potential member. ^^

Ooh, awesome idea! I love the idea of us being able to judge the applicants. I'm pretty sure no SG member would be biased towards anyone. x3

I think it's a great idea. I'd love the opportunity to get a glimpse of who might become a member.

I think this is an awesome idea! Maybe we won't get so many inactive members now.

I don't *really* like it a whole lot as it seems so... elitist But I accept it and see the logic of it. It would just be so mean to deny someone membership just because they say they'd only be active once a week or something.

Lexi--I kind of found it elitist too, at first, but we're trying not to approach it from that angle. And don't worry--we won't be discriminating based on time constraints. We just want to see how much someone cares about their characters, really. (:

I think its a good way of getting members that will be consistently here at the HBC. I does seem like a long process for the applicants though. Kind of like applying for a pet. But I guess it shows dedication if they do fill it all out.

I've already said my piece on this (lol). xD. But as for time constraints, it'd be like me telling people to go on EVERY DAY when I myself can only manage very few nights and some weekends during classes. That'd just be goofy. And rather hypocritical ;; So there's really no fear of time constraints- we do (usually) have lives off the computer. (rarely) We know that better than anyone
