I take it all in stride...
Name: Faeilwyn
Neopets Name: Faeilwyn
Nicknames: Faeil (Feh-ail)
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Race: Human/Pteri
Alliance: Chaotic-Neutral
Occupation: Former fire-dancer, currently apprentice navigator for Emilairon's ship (Emil's Bio)
Homeland: Altador, Neopia
My feet are tangled up...
Love: None
Preference: Males
Children: None
Status: Single, vaguely interested
Personality: Initially, Faeil can appear to be hard to get along with. She insists on being self-sufficient, and dislikes showing weakness; she likes to be in control of herself and what's happening around her. Spoiled as a child, Faeil sometimes tends to be somewhat rebellious and bratty, but this is only when she's really irritated. On the plus side, she's got a lot of spunk and spirit, and isn't easily fazed. She goes along with life pretty easily, and bounces back from things that might stumble other people.
Likes: Altador, family, dancing, music, the ocean, sailing, astronomy.
Dislikes: Snow/cold, being reprimanded, Shenkuu, studying (except for astronomy), divining/magic/astrology/etc..
The fire to burn away my thickened skin...
Mother: Valerina, a Faerie Pteri
Father: Cacero, a blue Pteri
Siblings: Younger brother, Socrast, a purple Pteri
History: Growing up, Faeil was always a spirited girl. She disliked sitting down to study, something her father was very strict about. The only study she enjoyed was astronomy, or anything dealing with the stars, adn would willingly stay up to any hour stargazing. However, her other education lagged greatly behind, leaving her family perplexed and concerned.
As Faeil's father was an ambassador for Altador and her mother a lady-in-waiting in the court, Faeil was often left to her own devices (during which she was supposed to be studying, but obviously Faeil wasn't going to stand for that.) So Faeil took up an art known as "fire-dancing." Similar to Japanese geishas, fire-dancers in Altador a high-class entertainers which, on occasion, include prostitution. It was fun, and Faeil enjoyed the thrill behind her family's back.
Eventually, however, and inevitably, Cacero found out about it. Horrified, he sent his daughter to an order of female scholars in Shenkuu, where she could be forced to study and be kept under close inspection. Faeil felt, of course, completely suffocated in such surroundings, and on numerous accounts attempted to fly away from her "exile."
Cacero knew that such arrangements could not last forever. One day, he was having lunch with a respected Altadorian merchant sailor, Captain Emilairon the Shoyru. Cacero mentioned his daughter, how quick she was, but how impossible to control. Emil made an offer. His navigator was being promoted to the Altador court, and so Emil was going to promote his current apprentice navigator to full-time on his ship, the Light's Silence. Faeil could come on the ship as the new apprentice navigator and earn her keep sailing. She would be out and about, but Emil would make sure she stayed in line.
Cacero agreed wholeheartedly to the offer, and Faeil was quick to accept as well - anything to get her out of Shenkuu. Thus, she left the scholarly order and began her new journey sailing the ships with Captain Emilairon as a navigator.

Dance of Fate
By Epica
When darkness will reign and blind us all
When darkness will reign and blind us all
Allegiance will blind us if we do not fall
We cannot tell when morning comes
Is there a choice to live another day?
It’s hard to find a new direction in your fragile life
The precious time of your existence is now to come
Don’t throw your life away by cheating time
Sugared placebos only fool your mind
Now I want the water to wash away all my sins
The wind to blow away my thoughts without meaning
The fire to burn away my thickened skin
When darkness will reign and blind us all
Allegiance will blind us if we do not fall
Novas portas pandimus
What is the space, the type of dance?
I cannot tell which steps I have to take
I’d like to leave, just run away
My feet are tangled up
So hard to face the pace of the clock
What do you think, will it ever stop?
So will I fall and not get up?
I take it all in stride
Now I want the water to wash away all my sins
The wind to blow away my thoughts without meaning
The fire to burn away my thickened skin
Everything has a reason for its happening
Can’t you tell it’s your own spell and
Everyone has to dance his dance like anyone
Can’t break free of destiny
We should open new doors
And close the ones that we’ve left behind
Now I want the water to wash away all my sins
The wind to blow away my thoughts without meaning
The fire to burn away my thickened skin
When darkness will reign and blind us all
Allegiance will blind us if we do not fall
Novas portas pandimus
