The Peophin of the Night
You got someone here wants to make it alright
Someone who loves you more than life right here
You got willing arms that'll hold you tight
A hand to lead you on through the night right here
I know your heart can get all tangled up inside
But don't you keep it to yourself
When your long day is over
And you can barely drag your feet
The weight of the world is on your shoulders
I know what you need
Bring it on home to me
You know I know you like the back of my hand
But did you know I'm gonna do all that I can right here
I'm gonna lie with you till you fall asleep
When the morning comes I'm still gonna be right here
So take your worries and just drop them at the door
Baby leave it all behind
When your long day is over
And you can barely drag your feet
The weight of the world is on your shoulders
I know what you need
Bring it on home to me
Baby let me be your safe harbor
Don't let the water come and carry you away
When your long day is over
And you can barely drag your feet
The weight of the world is on your shoulders
I know what you need
Bring it on home to me
You got someone here wants to make it alright
Someone who loves you more than life right here
A New Beginning
Everyone knows Kishou's backstory, so I won't bother explaining that again. These events will target the current happenings in Kishou's life. I will pick up when Kishou and Fall seperated.
It wasn't an easy seperation - not that they had really been together very much while they were together. Fall was absent...constantly. Kishou longed for her...when he learned she was pregnant, he was overjoyed. Surely the birth of their daughter would keep the two of them together. Finally he could have the family he had always longed for. Nothing could seperate them. But he was wrong. Before their daughter was even able to hardly speak, both of them were gone. Kishou was left alone...again.
He began to travel more and more on land, taking a chapter out of his little sister Eva's book. In a sense, their roles reversed. Eva was now the one taking care of Kishou - picking him up off the street when he finally got kicked out of bar after bar, drunk-sitting him, nursing him back to health. Unfortunately he doesn't remember this stretch of time where his sister really showed her love for him - he can't remember much of that time to begin with. He also met the mare he'd come to consider his best friend - not that she really helped him shape up. Rayneance was his new bar buddy, and they hit up nearly every bar in Neopia and Ithere, getting totally sloshed. Kishou and Ance met when Kishou locked her in his wine cellar - Ance gratefully emptied it of its contents, much to Sustan's dismay. There was an immediate rift between the stallions. Kishou didn't care - Ance was simply a friend.
Fall returned one night with their daughter. Kishou was disgusted with himself - how could he set this example for Bela? He began to sober up, to become the role model she deserved...but before long, both of them were gone again.
Though he didn't know it consciously, he was slowing giving up on her. It wasn't that he didn't love her. But how could he be good enough for her? His love wasn't strong enough to keep her around. He began to long for his family again. He reminisced about the old days of Peophins of the Night...where his children and Elin were always close. Elin - the mare that had never left him, not even in death.
Kishou was visiting his cousin Moscha one day when she dragged in a stranger and was interrogating her when Jaxako intervened. Upon speaking to her, Kishou discovered she was looking for the same mare he had been thinking of so often - Elin. The mare claimed to be Elin's granddaughter. Kishou was taken aback...Crypt and Cleo were dead. Crypt only had sons. Cleo had no children - unless she'd come back to life. Lilly was too young to have children...if she was still alive. But the mare's mother was no one he'd ever heard of before.
Together they set out to find Elin, and swam to the Lake of Red, where Elin's herd had been massacred. As he entered, he could hear her voice - smell her through the tainted water...and finally, could see a faint apparition of her. In a strange moment between worlds, Crypt also reappeared. Together he and Kishou brought Elin back to the living world - but doing so took something out of Kishou. He was not as powerful as before.
Kishou took Elin back to the old POTN grounds where they happily reminisced about their old lives. Consumed in the moment, Kishou had nearly forgotten about Fall...the mare always so absent from his life.
Of course as fate would have it, Fall returned shortly after Kishou and Elin's reunion, with Bela. Kishou's heart was torn in two between Fall, the mare he had fallen so hard for, the one he longed for constantly, and Elin, his first love, and the mare who was there. Always.
It wasn't an easy seperation. Bela hid in Kishou's den as her parents shouted at each other, and naturally blamed Kishou when her mother turned tail and fled.
Kishou turned back to find his daughter with a knife in his heart. Fall had accused him of not loving her - she said she'd given him her whole world. It would take a while for him to realize this was a lie. Fall had given him a very small part of her world - hadn't even trusted him enough to tell him where she was going or why. Hadn't trusted him enough to leave their daughter with him...until now. He held the pearl he had given her the day they had confessed their love for each other. She had given it back to him. He hid it in the cave before going to find Bela. She blamed him for chasing her mother off and told him she hated him. Kishou couldn't blame her. Before long, Bela was gone once again. He assumed Fall came and took her in the dead of night, and was heartbroken.
Kishou began to focus his time on Elin, who was now growing large with their fourth child. Elin had told Kishou that she had seen Cleo pass through onto the other side, but knew Lilly to still be alive. They set off towards Mystery Island to find her. Towards the inland, they came across a small farm with an old stallion sunbathing by a tree. They asked if he'd ever heard of her - instead of telling them straight out, he gave them the run-around until Kishou threatened to knock his frail old self into oblivion. He called for the young mare. To Kishou and Elin's surprise, it was indeed Lilly who came around the bushes, with a basket full of cherries. Elin used to risk her life to find the little treats for Lilly, who happens to be a vegetarian. After a hard goodbye to the stallion Lilly had come to know as "Grampa," the threesome set back off towards POTN. Elin gave birth to a colt she named Tsukuon.
However, instead of being overjoyed, Kishou saw this colt as the reason Fall had left him for good. Though he tried to feign interest, he really had animosity towards the foal. Elin picked up on this and became angry. Things were rough anyway - neither one of them was the peophin they'd remembered. Kishou had changed, no longer the bitter protector he once was. And Elin still seemed dead, and other than that, hadn't changed a bit. She, like Fall, took their child and left. This time, Kishou was not heartbroken. He and Elin hadn't meant to be together now, and he never wanted to look at Tsukuon again. Lilly stayed, however, and Kishou finally had a bit of his life back.
It wasn't long before Kishou heard news that he had become a great-grandfather. Crypt's son, Xo, had met a mare and they had a filly. He quickly set out to Hathor to meet Pechavi, and ran in to none other than Rayneance. Apparently she was friends with Xo's wife. They resolved to hit up every bar in Ithere and became even faster friends. One day they were both summoned to Hathor by mysterious notes - Xo's wife, Ange, was trying to set them up on a date. They both resolved to kill her and laughed at her ridiculous idea. However, the day turned out differently than either one of them had planned. Kishou left Hathor feeling quite confused.
Upon returning to POTN, Kishou found some of his old friends had returned. He was overjoyed in introducing them to his daughter, Lilly. It wasn't long before the faeries took notice of the rebuilding of the herd and launched a suprise attack. It wasn't the only surprise...before the faeries arrived, a nearly long-lost face returned to the herd accompanied by a stallion Kishou had never seen before. Bela rushed to him and Kishou knew he'd been forgiven for doing her wrong. Their joy was short-lived...the faeries arrived. Kishou ushered both his daughters into his den, much to Lilly's dismay.
The fight was short and rather pathetic. The POTN annihilated the faeries. However, when Kishou went to let his daughters out of his den, neither one were there. The fight had just been a distraction - the faeries carried Lilly to their dungeons in Faerieland, and Bela had once again disappeared. Perhaps it had been the strange stallion she'd arrived with...there was no sign of him either.
As Kishou grieved, he found the one mare who could comfort him by his side, vowing for revenge. They're planning a rescue mission, and Kishou is more than determined as ever to keep his family together...no matter who that might be.

Kishou has a history of being a bit of an idiot. He's hotheaded and reacts to things a bit too quickly. In his past, he wasn't one to cross as he did not forgive and his wrath was harsh. The Long Patrol helped him to lighten up. He is also slightly arrogant. He loves to play pranks on people or make fun of them. When it comes to his family, he is still as fiercely protective as he's always been. These days, people can cross him and he won't blink an eye, but to cross his family is a death wish.
