OoC // I'm a bit rusty and apologize if my writing style is dry right now. I tend to subconsciously write in the style of whatever I've been reading, and lately I've read a lot of philosophy and older documents. So yeah... =P
Naliessa’s tiny hooves made a soft plod plod plod sound in the soft soil as she headed down Terror Mountain. There was a hint of spring in the air, and all around her the season was beginning to gently seep from the mountain. The streams ran heavy from the melting ice, tender shoots of grass were beginning to poke their heads up from the ground, the chill in the air had become less sharp to the lungs, and here and there a bird could be heard singing.
It was still cold further up the mountain where she lived, and the signs of spring were not yet beginning to show there. The red scarf which wreathed her neck and the winter themed ribbons in her mane and tail were evident of this.
The filly sniffed the air longingly, wishing that spring would hasten itself; it was her favorite season. Everything just felt so happy and alive during the spring, and she found the sentiment of renewal so infectious that her usually cheerful disposition was made even more so.
Giddy with the thought of flowers and adorable baby critters which were sure to come, she trotted over to the creek that flowed down the mountainside, following it until she came to the spot where it widened and deepened enough to be called a small river. She stared into the water’s flow, watching as it washed the winter away.
She could not keep the smile from spreading across her face as she wondered what this spring had in store for her.

((Lol, don't worry about it. xD I'm a little rusty on roleplaying Kel myself, so bear with me as I remember his character. x3))
Terror Mountain was quieter than he remembered. There wasn't any loud children screaming for presents, no overly mushy couples, and no one begging for donations for different charities.
Though what chill was left from the tendrils of winter that still clung to the lower parts of the mountain range was canceled out by his warm cape, he still shivered at the memories the place stirred up. He made his mother swear to never set him up on a blind date again after that.
This time he was here on a messenger's mission. It wasn't the most glorious job, but seeing as he couldn't find a decent bakery or restaurant that would hire him, it would have to do for now.
He trotted up the mountain pass, ready to face the steep climb. But the creek was shimmering so beautifully...curse his affinity for water! He had a job to do. He wandered over to the creek hesitantly, so mystified by the newly trickling water to notice he had bumped shoulders with the mountain resident of the opposite sex.

Naliessa had been so intent on watching the creek and listening to its gentle gurgle that she hadn't even heard or seen the stranger approaching. She jumped slightly and made an, "Oh" sound when he bumped her shoulder, and she turned to see what had collided with her.
Her blue eyes widened when, to her surprise, she saw that a peophin stood next to her.
Almost immediately, her face brightened into a smile, and without even giving the creature a chance to offer her an apology, she burst into a greeting, shouting a hearty, "Hi!"

Kel was snapped out of his reverie with the mare's first breath. Startled, he jumped back, but miscalculated on his landing and instead landed with a splash.
"H-h-hello..." Kel stuttered, uncertain of how to hoist himself out of the water without embarrassing himself further. It became even more dire when he came to the realization that the individual in front of him was a female.
"I'm uh...sorry?" He tried, practically staring at the poor girl. Aw man, this event in his life seemed like a trainwreck waiting to happen.

Naliessa's jaw dropped and her eyes widened as the other equine, clearly startled by her enthusiastic outburst of a greeting, tumbled into the river with a terrific splash. Immediately, there was a sick feeling in her gut and her face flushed with embarrassment.
A string of thoughts reeled through her head all at once. Oh no! What have I done? The poor thing! But he's a peophin, so he's okay in water, right? Oh dear, oh dear, but it's so cold! What should I do?
"Oh dear, no no no, I'm sorry!" was the only thing she was capable of blurting out.
Tears almost welled in her eyes for a moment, and she wondered if maybe she had accidentally knocked him in the river. It had all happened so fast that she wasn't completely sure of just what had happened. But the thought and the tears were quickly pushed away as she urgently turned around and offered her streaming tail as a rope in an effort to help him climb up out of the river.
"I'm terrible sorry!" the little filly shouted over her shoulder, followed by a frantic, "Here, please do let me help you!"

Kel, though embarrassed beyond reason, still had his manly pride. He didn't want to accept her offer of her tail because it would mean he couldn't get himself up out of -water-, his element for goodness sake. But he didn't want to appear rude, because his mother had taught him to be better than that to a lady.
"No, it's m-my fault..." Kel started, while still sitting in the water, "I was just startled, is all. I've kind of...got a thing for water?"
Wow, that sentence sounded so much better in his head. Smooth, Kelright, smooooth. He mentally berated himself. Was he always going to be hopeless around girls?
"I can uh...get up by myself. I wouldn't want to bite your tail or anything..."
He rose from his position in the creek and made his way toward the bank. Blushing, he looked at the girl who had so kindly offered her tail to hoist him out of the water, regardless of how it looked.
Of course, while he checking her out, he stumbled on his first step onto the bank. His cooking supplies underneath his cape rattled as he struggled to regain his balance. He failed, of course, and fell flat on his face.
"Oh crap..." He muttered into the muddy bank.

Naliessa honestly had no clue what to do. She'd been in awkward situations before, where she herself had been the awkward one, but she'd never been in this awkward of a situation, especially not one where the awkwardness could be so heavily attributed to the other person. Still, he'd only been trying to be polite in saving her tail from becoming frayed and dirty, and she knew she ought to be grateful for that. It didn't help the small pang of guilt that she felt as he toppled over into the mud however.
With a small gasp, she rushed over to his side, her hooves making deep imprints in the muddy bank where he had fallen. Her blue eyes widened as she looked him over to check if he was alright.
"Oh, goodness!" she exclaimed, unsure of whether to touch him or help him up. "Are you okay?"
She felt awful for the poor creature, simply awful.
Poor thing, she couldn't help sympathizing, his luck must be absolutely terrible right now! I wonder if Dei could brew him up something to fix that. . . With a quick glance up the mountain, she decided that the peophin boy wouldn't be able to make it that far up the slope without another disaster happening before he even reached Happy Valley. With that in mind, she quickly pushed the idea from her head.

It was just one of those days again.
He had already come to terms with his terrible luck long ago. Instead of having pity for himself, he pitied the girl who so kindly stood and watched the never-ending torment that was his teenage life.
He lifted his head out of the muck, his orchid eyes looking to the filly's face, "Yeah...yeah, I'm okay," he sighed, "Completely and utterly a mess, but okay."
He curled his tailfin underneath him and hoisted himself back up on his forelegs. The utensils scraped over his back, and he winced. He really needed to find a better way to carry around his cooking equipment.
Cover head to hoof in mud, he gave the girl a small smile, "Um...I guess a proper hello is in order?"

Naliessa couldn't help giggling, now that she knew he was okay. "A proper hello, indeed!" she agreed with him.
Her hooves made little prints in the mud as she took a small step back and nodded her head in shallow arch, the way she had always been taught to greet strangers. Dei had been most adamant about manners and being polite, because it made people feel welcome, respected, and appreciated. Eager to please both Dei and everyone around her, Naliessa had picked up on this quite well and treasured it; a little bit of manners could go a long way, after all.
“Hi,” she said, her face wreathed in a bright smile, “I’m Naliessa!”
She gazed at him thoughtfully, eagerly awaiting his response. It was always a joy to meet new people, and this peophin seemed particularly interesting. She’d never met a peophin before in the first place, as the rivers and creeks were frozen most of the year up in the mountain, and even then, the water was always bitterly cold year round.
She wondered what he was doing here, where he had come from, if he was a resident from some other part of the mountain, how long how he would stay, where he was going, what the pack on his back was and what it contained… All of these questioned clustered on the tip of her tongue, begging to be asked and answered.

Aw man, now he had her giggling. Usually, that meant he should feel more embarrassed than he already was, and should probably be removing himself from the girl's sight in an effort to get away from the hurtful comments accompanying such behavior.
He was pleasantly surprised when she offered a greeting in return. Stunned, he stared at the odd mare for a moment. Was she genuinely smiling at him, or hiding her judgment of him in her thoughts?
Suddenly aware that he was staring, he cleared his throat to reply, "Um...I'm Kelright," he shifted on his feet, suddenly somehow feeling even more awkward, "But uh...most people just call me Kel."
The eagerness of the mare seemed to just ooze off of her, and it made him uneasy. Was he really all that interesting to her? He could practically see the questions in her eyes. A little freaky, but hey, what did he have to lose? She might even help him find the guy his client wanted him to deliver a message to.
"Erm...do you uh...want to ask me something?"
