The last thing you were expecting was parallel lines of trumpeters. As you watch as a little Peophin walks between the musicians, you also ponder on how they all fit into your bedroom. The little Peophin approaches you with a smile across his little white muzzle, brown eyes shining with the joy of his delivery. He hands you a scroll without a word. He somehow signals to the fanfare to exit the room, and he follows soon after. After you are finished staring at the closed door, you turn your attention back to the scroll. The scroll is sealed with wax, imprinted with an unfamiliar coat of arms. Curious, you break the seal and unroll the parchment and reveal a strange letter:
To the Lucky Lover Who Has Received this Letter, Many congratulations, as you have been successfully paired with a wondrous partner for a stupendous holiday treat. Before you even think of tossing this scroll into your trash receptacle, please take note that this date is sponsored by the Kingdom of Aquari and is free of charge on behalf of the Make-Me-a-Match Foundation. If you enjoy the result of all of their hard work, they except donations in the form of neopoints, doubloons, and free advertising. The date set out for you is tailored to your interests, and your partner chosen by your answers to our wonderful online questionnaire. If you have any complaints, you should revisit your answers and check your honesty before consulting with the MMAMF personnel.
You skim over the rest of this section, as you notice it removes any form of liability on the kingdom and the foundation. After your quick skim, you reach the last paragraph of the letter with all of the information you need:
You and your fantastic date will be helping a staff to decorate the Altadorian Art Gallery for their holiday show (Sponsored in part by the kingdom of Aquari)! The staff at the gallery asks that you do not alter and/or deface the art within the gallery in any way, shape, or form while you are assisting their efforts. I have assured them many times that you and your date are not the kinds of neopets to do so. This also means you will have the first look into their new exhibits, so all is to be hush-hush until the opening of the Holiday Wing later this evening. After you have finished with the decorations, feel free to browse through the gallery until the show. Free hot chocolate and coffee will be supplied at the event in the evening if you wish to stay. Your date will meet you outside of the gallery at 11:00 this morning! The gallery opens to the public at 6:00, which is plenty of time to decorate and explore before the show!
Well wishes, Queen Arynaiyae Royale of Aquari [/i][/right]

Even though she was merely decorating, Kikyo still always made sure to look her best. Sporting a curvy, simple dress, sparkling flats, and bundled in furs, the Cybunny made her way down down Altador's streets. Though Altador's citizens were moving past their Christmas decorations, the winter festivities were still in full swing. As winter wore on, it was important to keep the citizens' spirits up against the dreary weather.
And what better way to get one's mind off the gray of winter than a beautiful art gallery showing? Smiling to herself, Kikyo fixed the vintage bag swinging on her paw as she stepped up the Altadorian Art Gallery steps. The Cybunny had really entered this blind date event on a bet from her opera friends, who were expecting full reports the next day. Kikyo chuckled when she thought of them. Truthfully, she wouldn't be surprised if some would show up at the gallery tonight!
Still, until then, there was work to do. Once she was in the lobby, Kikyo was directed to a side conference room to wait for her date. Sipping a fresh cup of hot tea--much preferred to hot chocolate or coffee--Kikyo patiently awaited the arrival of her mystery man.

LOL mystery man. How fitting xD. Sorry this is long-winded; that's just Blitz :/
He felt a bit like the Invisible Man in this get-up; trench coat, check. Boots, check. Sunglasses, check. Not realising the irony in all of this, he added a western hat and gloves to his attire; seeing that this at least gave him some form (as people were less apt to be forgiving of his condition when he coated himself with baby powder or smelled like white enamel paint) gave him a bit of pleasure. Art galleries did generally give off a bit of light that would at least show the outline of his face; but he had learned before that moving to the middle of the gallery (where there were florescent lights rather than spot lights) generally made him disappear entirely. Wonderful for getting away from exceptionally chatty gallery patrons; not the best way to make an impression on a date.
As for the date, he thought as he stared at the MMAMF envelope, he blamed Kin. He'd seriously miffed the stallion earlier in the year and it seemed as if this was his payback- it was one thing to go to a gallery with friends, but to go to a gallery while- at least ostensibly- on a date? He grimaced, not particularly the romantic type yet. He shrugged as he headed for the door, realising that this very well could be Aerlliin's doing- getting him in a new-ish situation with a stranger WOULD be optimal for his social development, which was lacking. This, at least, he knew.
By the time the young stallion made it to the gallery, his spirits were much lifted- he and whomever he would be decorating with would see these masterpieces before anyone else would. He wasn't much of a braggart, but he wouldn't mind rubbing it in Chupakabra's face. At all. The little cretin had irritated Tream during a training session so badly that the mare hadn't said a word to anyone for a month. Sighing and shaking his head (though wearing a large grin that no one could see), he opened the door, greeted with an almost empty hall and the smell of pretentious wine and cheese. Oh, gallery, how predictable you are to be exactly like all others upon first glance! This exclamation startled the director, who quickly (without looking at him too much) shuffled him off to the conference room where his date sit in wait.
A pleasure to meet you, fair lady Cybunny. Blitzern, or Blitz, however you please, a Peophin. He bowed gracefully, which very nearly sent the hat on his head flying off. He always felt the need to add 'a Peophin' as whether or not the lights DID hit his haircoat just right, people were often puzzled as to what in Fyora's name he might be.

Kikyo turned with her characteristic polite smile when she heard the door open, but it had to be admitted that a flash of confusion passed her face when she saw her date walk through the door. She saw the clothes--they were nothing striking, though put together well enough, she supposed--but little else. Kikyo mentally kicked herself into gear. Rude to stand there and gape! Perhaps the Neopet was merely painted Invisible. Either way, his seemingly invisble condition was no reason for her to stare at him as if he had two heads--after all, Kikyo knew plenty of wonderful two-headed Mutant Neopets.
Well--it is finely met, good sir, Kikyo said somewhat grandly, sauntering over to the Peophin and offering a paw delicately for a proper kiss of greeting. My name is Kikyo. She wondered if Blitzern would recognize her name. It had been headlined in the Altador Opera numerous times by now, but then, he might not be fond of opera. If so, their meeting might just end right here! So, are you ready for a day of the fine arts? she asked, winking. Of course, that would be somewhat dependent on what kind of art they would be preparing--personally, Kikyo had little patiene for the "post-modern art" that some Neopets were making nowadays.
