Okay folks! Listen up, because this is going to be oodles of fun for all of us!
Lndy and I bring you a new, unique, and exciting twist on the gave we all love to play most. What game is that? Why love, of course!
Now we all know that here at the SG, love is always in the air. We also know that all our lovely equines have secret crushes brewing in the inner most sheltered places of their hearts. However, love is a tender subject, and young hearts are tender too. It takes a lot of courage to wear your heart on your sleeve for somone who may not even like you back.
But what if fate was on your side? What if, through magic, you could find out if your crush liked you back? And best of all, what if you didn't have to risk a thing?
Would you take that chance?
Well, my friends, there is no time like the present to find out! There's talk in town of a very special kind of doctor whose expertise is the equine heart. It's said she's a stranger here and that her trade is a mystical one, but with the excitement there is also talk about her exceptional credibility.
Her name is Madam Anet and she is a master of hear art, but can she help you?
There's only one way to find out!
Okay gang, Ami speaking here! I'm going to run over the rules so you all know how to take part in this little game. It's open to absolutely anyone as long as you meet this one requirement:
You must have at least one character who has a crush on or is any way romantically interested in another character here on the forums.
That said, here's how this is going to work:
1. This will be in role play form. The basic idea is that your character will engage in a short roleplay(ette) with Lndy's Peophin RulingPlanet. This will involve your character finding and entering Anet's divination shop, being ushered into the room by Tairrow, and having a brief consultation with Anet herself. Your character will then tell Anet their crush/interest and Anet will get back to her on whether their crush/interest has mutual feelings.
2. Multiple customers will be able to wait in the waiting room at one time, but please do not post multiple descriptions of them waiting around. This is a first come, first serve business and people will have to wait their turn. Don't worry, if you post that your character is waiting in the waiting room, I won't forget, so you don't need to remind me. Your character will be called in when it is thier turn to talk with Anet.
3. Now, it is important to remember that the actual name of the crush must be PMed to Lndy because it is a SECRET (zomg!). RP-wise, this can be conducted by a whisper in the ear.
4. After a character has PMed their secret crush to Lndy, Lndy will tell me and I will contact the crush's owner. This PM will consist of a notification said character has someone interested in them. Said character may either reject the offer, in which case the date will not go through, or they may accept it, in which case the date will be set up. After I have received a response, I will replay it to Lndy who will give the results THROUGH PM to the character with the crush. The results will not be played out on this board in the interest of efficiency (and privacy).
5. If a date is indeed set up, I will make a private board in the love boards section specifically for it and PM it to those involved.
Confused? Here's an example:
a. PrettyPeophin stumbles across Madam Anet's divination shop b. She goes upstairs and waits in the waiting room c. When it is her turn, Tai ushers her in d. PrettyPeophin talks with Anet for a bit c. PrettyPeophin whispers her crush in Anet's ear (This is when PrettyPeophin's owner PMs Lndy the name of PrettyPeophin's crush, which is HunkyPeophin) d. Lndy tells me that PrettyPeophin has a crush on HunkyPeophin e. I PM HunkyPeophin's owner, telling them this news f. HunkyPeophin either 1) Rejects the offer, in which case I PM Lndy and Lndy PMs PrettyPeophin's owner the sad results 2) HunkyPeophin accepts, in which case I set up a date board and tell Lndy and Lndy PMs PrettyPeophin the happy news
*phew!* Complex, huh? It'll be confusing and a lot of work, but this is a really great way to get a romantic rp going between to characters who are really interested. Tired of ending up with someone not-so-perfect on blind dates? Then Madam Anet's divination game is for you!
You find yourself walking slowly down an empty street in a quieter part of town. You can't remember when the hustle and bustle ended, but you find yourself enjoying the sudden peace. The weather is a little dreary, and you look up at the light stormclouds. Feeling the faintest hint of drizzle hit your cheeks, you hurry through a tidy neightborhood park and dash under a long maroon awning one block down.
Pleased to be out of the rain just as it starts to come down harder, you looked around, wondering if perhaps there is a cafe nearby in which you can wait out the storm. Turning, your eye falls on an old-looking sign hanging above the door. 'Luna Rising New-Age Bookshop' it proclaims in loopy purple lettering. You look in the window and see shelves full of used books, crystals, incense, and semi-precious stones. You can hear the faint sound of mystical music coming from inside.
As you take in this unusual sight, your eye is drawn to another sign hanging above that of the bookstore's. It is much newer, and bold, fancy letters proudly proclaim the place a divination shop.
'Divination?' you wonder. It seems unusual, but a small rumble of thunder sends you hurrying for the doors. Divination is better than a storm anyday.
You look up the wide stairwell. The sagging steps are accompanied by peeling yellow paint and dim lighting. You wonder if this is a good idea after all, but decide to go ahead with it anyway. Timidly, you climb up to the door, trying to ignore the massive squeaking of every old step.
The moment you open the door, you are plunged into an entirely different atmosphere. Rich shades of purple and deep pink fill your vision. Shimmering silk is draped across luxurious pillows and cushions strewn across the plush magenta carpet. Wind chimes hang glittering above your head, silent with no wind to catch them. To your right, a tranquil indoor fountain bubbles by the door. You see that several visitors before you have tossed a few shimmering neopoints into the rocky bottom.
The gray light from outside shines in from a window on the far right side of the little waiting room. A stick of incense burns slowly in a glittering base, its silver smoke curling sensuously through the warm air. Pots of lucky bamboo are placed around the room, adding a few splashes of vibrant green to the deep, comforting purples and pinks.
A small mottled orange filly suddenly notices you and jumps in surprise.
"A customer!" she squeaks, bouncing over to you excitedly.
"Welcome to Madam Anet's Fortunes, Fates, and Forecasts!" she recites proudly, puffing out her little chest, "Please take a seat and the Madam will be with you shortly." She gestures over to the comfortable corner full of pillows.
As you go to sit down, the filly smiles over at you. "Would you like any music? And can I get you some tea?"

This sounds like an AWSOME idea, Ami and Lndy!! And beautiful little sign, dear. <3 xD After all my stupid school stuff is over and I have a bit of time to actually converse with people and be on for more than a few minutes, I'll definately have to partake in this!

Glad you all like it!
From now on, though, I'd like it iff any ooc comments go on the board linking to this one in announcements. I don't want the role plays to get cluttered. Thanks!
Hey Lndy, did I get everything?

Ahndraya entered the little shop, her pelt slightly damp from the light drizzle outside. The little shop intrigued her, purple and pink everywhere, hung in a fashion that was mysterious, yet soothing..
She was inspecting the bubbling fountain, as the sweet smell of inscense filled her nose, completely oblivious to anyone who might be in the shop. So, when the excited orange filly rushed over to her, it scared the silver mare. "Oh, I didn't know anyone else was here!" Ahndraya exclaimed as the filly motioned her to the pillow-filled corner. Sitting down gently and gracefully, she found the pillows to be quite comfortable, and she relized, the filly was still talking to her. "Yes, some tea would be nice, and music would be lovely as well," she said to the filly, all the while wondering how much more enchanted the place could get.

"Coming right up!" Piped the filly, and rushed over to behind the desk where a stereo presumably sat. Soon, speakers well diguised by draping fabrics and potted plants emitted a low, soothing chant (think Enya).
The little Filly flipped a switch on the back of a small automatic water boiler and waited patiently until the little pot began to whistle softly. In no time at all, Tairrow was by the lovely mare's side with a hot cup accompanied by a few ginger snaps. She balanced the saucer carefully on her head with her one free hoof.
"It's Berry Zinger!" She said sweetly, smiling as curls of steam rose up into the pink warmth above them.
"Madame Anet should be with you in no time at all, seeing as there isn't a big crowd today." Tai said with surprising eloquence for a ten-year-old. She neatly curled her tail around her hooves and waited, smiling at the heavy velvet purple curtain that led into her teacher's room.

An unseen hand (or hoof) peeled a small fraction of the violet, velvet curtain back, allowing a small glimpse of the next room. A welcoming, heart-warming voice melted into the waiting room, beckoning the mare in. Merry meet and step into my parlour, miss Ahndraya!
The buttery voice seemed to hang in the thickly perfumed air as you step into the curtains, all of a sudden, feeling very drowsy. The rest of the room is very dark; the circular walls are a deep violet fading into the black ceiling that seems to have been cursed to reflect the night sky with pinpricks of celestial light dappling the velvet tablecloth beneath a shorter, netted, hot-pink table runner. Atop the round table sits an amethyst crystal ball, its innards spinning in a hazy fog.
While drinking in the heavenly surroundings, you barely noticed the source of the warm voice. A slender, silver mare sits regally behind the crystal. Her bluegrey mane is a mass of curls, braids and beads as it spills down her elegant neck. Her lightly dished face is offset by striking, rosy eyes and gold hoops looped through her ears and facefins. A single black chord twined three times around her neck and ending in two smaller crystal balls and hotpink fishnets on her legs and tail complete the odd appearance.
Smiling gently yet firmly at you, she bows. Welcome. Please take a seat. Turning her gaze to the crystal ball, thats foggy insides seemed to be swirling more tempestuously. Well, I shall get right to it, miss Ahndraya...it appears that you have come here because your heart is unsettled... Madam Anet mused as she frowned into the pink mist. You're curious about whether you have a possibility with someone...who is this someone? The silvery mare queried, leaning across the table to the other silver mare. Come now, you can tell me! Just whisper it in my ear...

Ahndraya lifted the teacup to her mouth, and drank the tea - it was a delicious blend she had never had before. " The tea is delicious!" she said, complimenting the orange filly on the lovely tea, as she finished it, and the gingersnaps.
Her silver ears perked forward when she heard Madame Anet calling her into her parlour. Obidiently, she followed Madame's voice, into the room of dark hues of purple, black, and the ceiling of stars. At least, that's what she made them out to be.
Sitting herself across the table from Madame Anet, Ahn's gazed remained fixed on the crystal ball.Suddenly realizing Madame had been speaking to her, about everything she came there for, she changed her attention from the ball to Madame, and without thinking, "Wow, you must be psychic," blurted from the silver mare's lips. "Oh you want to know his name?" Ahndraya figeted a bit, but she got the courage to whisper his name to madame...

The nebulaic mare sighed heavily, surprised with herself for running indoors to avoid a storm. She typically enjoyed being out in thunderstorms, but something about this mystical place had drawn her in. The mare made her way slowly up the steps, desperate not to make the planks squeak under her weight but to no avail.
After pushing cautiously through the door, Epehn had to gasp a little at the stark contrast this room provided to the dingy stairway her body still stood in. The pinks and purples reminded her heavily of her own mane. Her purple hooves carried her further and soon she stood, transfixed, next to the fountain taking in the sights, sounds, and general atmosphere. She eyed the cushiony pillows carefully before settling down upon an exceptionally fluffy one. She had just been studying the windchimes when the filly's voice caught her attention.
"Oh, my dear you frightened me. A cup of tea would be quite lovely..." Her voice trailed off, her attention drawn to the bamboo potted around the room. She enjoyed the contrast it provided to the magenta carpets and purple velvets and silk.
A small bit of apprehension filled her.. surely this place was filled with Magic to have drawn her in this intensely? Watching the small orange filly get the tea, Epehn sighed and tried to relax.

Wing stared with awestruck eyes up at the building. The sign that announced Fortunes, Fates, and Forecasts seemed to shimmer in the steady, pouring rain that dripped down her short mane and tail. She sighed. She loved all sorts of weather, but she was very tired from her traveling, and the divination shop seemed like a very nice place just to sit down and get some rest.
Wing Ithil clopped up the stairs and into the shop. A small bell on the door announced her arrival, and sevaral people that were in the waiting room turned their heads to look at her. The Elvish mare blushed, then went over to an overstuffed cushion of an earthy green color and sat in it, feeling very awkward. Just then, a cup of tea was brought over to her. Smiling gratefully, Wing took it and sipped, feeling self-conscious just a tad, wondering what exactly would happen. She wasn't at all sure that she believed in psychics, but was nonetheless curious - like she always was!

"Madame Anet's current customer customer should be done shortly." Tai announced in her voice, puffing out her chest as if in an attempt to give an air of importance to her small frame. She smiled over at the two newcomers.
"You're next," She said, waving a small hoof at the nebulaic Peophin mare, "And then you can go." She added, nodding politely to the Elvish Uni.

Gazing intently into the crystal for several more moments, Anet leaned back and smiled gently at her guest. Flexing her long, fishnetted tail, she cleared her throat. Well, Miss Ahndraya. It appears that he has his heart set on someone else. However, I encourage you to befriend him, as he would be a steadfast comrade. Anet encouraged. I wish you the best of luck. Please watch your step on the way out!
Anet crooned, watching quietly as her guest departed. I can help the next client, Tai, dear! The psychic called out into the waiting room as the velvet curtain dropped closed.

Maeterae walked quietly through the little building. Carefully, her icy blue eyes watched every step in front of her equally blue hooves. A few raindrops were scattered across her peachy fur, making it sparkle gently.
The mare smiled gently as she saw the other mares here, glad that she was not alone. She drew a long sigh before walking towards a poofed pillow designed with swirls that seemed so tantalizing to her. A frown was once again upon her face as she sat, hooves and legs in front of her and tailfin next to her hooves. She smiled quickly at the young peophin, to which she shook her head at the offer of tea.

"Berry Zinger, just for you!" Tai announced as he carried the cup over to the new mare.
"Make yourself at home. Madam Anet will see you after these two."
Tai smiled and twirled her way back to the table, beginning to boil a fresh pot of wanter for anyone else who might come in.
