So, as some of you know, I was super-excited for my horse to come up this week. He was supposed to get here on Monday...but, he didn't.
No, my dad's Ford F250 blew a rod right outside of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. In doing so, he lost absolutely all the oil out of his truck and ultimately ruined his entire engine. That's going to cost about 5,000 to 6,000 to replace.
Well, some people stopped by and offered to put Kishou (the horse) up for the night, and my parents, and actually also ended up lending them their Ford F350 diesel flatbed to haul Kishou the rest of the way here. So Tuesday about 5:00, my parents and my horse show up. We go out to the barn, and I unloaded him.
My parents were doing stuff with the trailer and talking to the owner of the place, so I took Kishou into the arena and tried to get him to run around a little bit, but all he wanted to do was eat. So I rehooked his lead rope, and walked him around, and he started spooking at one of the jumps. So, I took him up to it and made him sniff it and stuff, and that was fine.
Then, I decided to have him walk over the tarp. He's never had problems with tarps before, and he walked onto it fine.
Then he decided he didn't want to be on it anymore.
He jumped over nothing, landed on my left foot, knocked me over a ground pole and RAN OVER ME. I hit the ground, HARD.
You know what the funny part is? NO ONE WAS PAYING ATTENTION. So, like 30 seconds later finally someone notices and runs over, (because everyone else just thought I was lying in the dirt for fun I guess..) and helps me get up..sort of. My foot didn't hurt at the time, but my knee was killing me. My dad and my boyfriend carried me to the edge of the arena, and then my boyfriend carried me to the flatbed, where my mom and I decided I should probably go to the hospital. So, 15 minutes after she gets here, she's talking me to the ER. x3
So, they took me in and although I told them it was my KNEE that hurt, they were freaking out about my foot because it had a bruise on it (That bruise is no where near as big as the one on my knee). So they took me into x-ray, and took some of my foot and my knee. They decided I MIGHT have a fracture in my middle toe and my "ring" toe, but they weren't entirely sure. But still, they're making me wear a boot cast and walk around with crutches..
and you know what the funny part is? My foot still doesn't hurt. It never did. It was my freakin' KNEE (which still hurts) and now my shoulder's gotten quite stiff and I can barely move it..and really hoping I didn't dislocate it. Which really sucks with the crutches..
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to get my foot and knee looked at, though I think I just bruised my knee and my foot and probably my shoulder, but whatever. The sooner I don't have to wear this bootcast any longer, the better.
And of course my mom thought it was hilarious to take millions of pictures through the whole ordeal...ugh.
I'd say this had to be not a very fun vacation for them..certainly not one of the worst though. (I seriously like almost died every time we went camping when I was little..almost drowned..got bit by a black fly..the back windowshield of our van shattered and I was in the farthest seat back..I drank an entire bottle of liquid tylenol at age 2..)
But yeah. Now I can't even go riding..and my parents are trying to figure out how to get home since they are leaving the van with me, since Thomas's car broke down last week, and my dad's truck is still in Coeur D'Alene..
So, I probably won't be here too often here shortly. Maybe just for a little while, but we have to get everything sorted out..and my shoulder really needs to stop hurting..
And for some reason, everyone is convinced I need to kill and eat my horse..? One guy wanted to barbeque him..another wanted dog food..my supervisor wanted steaks..I'm pretty sure I'd shoot them before my horse.
